Introduction to Astronomy February 2025

February 3 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Moons of Jupiter

By Jonathan Park

Jupiter has 95 officially recognised moons, which our guest speaker, Jonathan Park, will discuss. Learn about where they all came from, including working out which are parts of larger objects that were shattered in the past. We’ll also discuss the four large Galilean moons, three with subsurface saltwater oceans and one with active volcanoes and several lava lakes. It’s going to be an informative and fun way to start the year. We hope to see you all there for this stimulating talk with Jonathan!
