Revealing the Youngest Stars in the Galaxy

Using recent images from the James Webb and Hubble Space Telescopes, we will examine previously unseen features in various regions of star formation to identify different types of infant stars and their associated structures. You will learn the difference between protostars, pre-main sequence stars and Herbig-Haro objects, plus how our Sun formed and matured into its current main sequence stage, along with eight planets forming the Solar System. Attendees will receive a four-page handout and, importantly, chocolate.
